Why are there different camera models?

Depending on the tool dimensions and types to be inspected, ZOLLER offers three different camera technologies for »pomBasic«. This ensures that every customer receives a solution that is optimally tailored to their requirements.

»pomSoft« 2« – Intelligent Testing Technology

The specialized ZOLLER software »pomSoft 2« for process-oriented measurement is based on the globally proven ZOLLER image processing system »pilot 4.0« and is equipped with numerous evaluation algorithms for grinding and sharpening operations as well as tool manufacturers. In addition, it is possible to create and save all functions individually in the customer-specific menu for the respective inspection task and tool variant. This ensures that the system is user-independent, easy to use, and provides a clear overview, requiring minimal training.

Are the devices user-friendly?

Yes, in addition to its many other advantages, »pomBasic« stands out for its high level of user-friendliness. For example, the most important and frequently used functions can be organized into favorite groups. This ensures that all operators have quick and simple access to the required measurement functions.

Does »pomBasic« offer the option to enlarge cross-sectional images using digital zoom?

A digital zoom is available in the control software for all camera models. Additionally, the »pomColorCam« and »pomMicroCam« models feature an optical zoom.

Are DXF comparisons supported on all devices in the »pomBasic« series?

The DXF function allows tools to be quickly and reliably optically aligned with their nominal contour in DXF format.

Are there options to quickly adjust the illumination settings for incident light and transmitted light?

For incident light, an automatic illumination setting function is available at the touch of a button. Additionally, the quick-access function allows you to quickly and simply optimize all available illumination settings.

When should I use a standard camera (»pomBasic«) or a micro camera (»pomBasic MTI«)?

Ideally, the diameter range for »the« »pomBasic« starts at 3 mm and increases toward the top. For the »pomBasic MTI«,« the diameter range starts as low as 0.2 mm and also increases toward the top.

Can »pomBasic MTI« also be used to measure larger tool diameters?

The travel paths of the X-axis and Y-axis are identical for both device models. This allows even larger tool diameters to be reliably measured with the »pomBasic MTI«.

Does ZOLLER offer tool holders for »pomBasic« and »pomBasic MTI«?

A wide variety of tool holders are available for a wide range of tool applications.

Why is there a CN control for the camera axis?

Enables combined focus on the tool, automatic camera positioning relative to the tool surface, and CNC-controlled movement of the camera axis via joystick.

Why does the »pomBasic« MTI« camera have coaxial lighting, and what is it?

Coaxial illumination is integrated directly into the camera system and ensures optimal, shadow-free lighting of the tool surface, particularly for microtools.

Equipment Table, Seated Workstation

The »pomBasic« inspection unit features a stable, secure design that provides optimal comfort while positioning it as a seated workstation even during time-consuming inspection tasks. It includes an extendable tray for the mouse and keyboard.

Enables transmitted light measurement of peripheral areas using a flat LED light. The illumination is positioned exactly opposite the video microscope system. Single LED spot light (white/red)

The dimmable LED spotlights can be flexibly positioned relative to the tool to optimally illuminate even undercut tool geometries. White LED spot for »pomBasic« with »pomColorCam« optics, redLED spot for »pomBasic« with »pomCam« optics, and »pomBasic« MTI«

It is ideal for mounting drawings right next to the measuring area. The magnetic spherical joint allows for flexible alignment that is optimal for the operator. Magnets make it simple to fix the drawings and exchange them quickly.

Tool and Accessory Tray

The shelf attached to the left side of the inspection unit allows for the safe storage of tools with a shaft diameter of up to 50 mm. In addition, the shelf offers sufficient space for small parts and indexable inserts.

Extended Swivel table

For very long tools, such as drills or reamers, the extended swivel table ensures that the tool is securely held in place.

Extended shank for deep hole drills

Support for extra-long tools ranging from D 3 mm to D 20 mm and up to 1000 mm in length. The prism is adjustable in height. It is mechanically connected to the extended Swivel table.

Depending on the application, there are three camera selections to make: the »pomColorCam« color camera with optical zoom, the »pomCam« monochrome camera with a fixed aperture and digital zoom, and the »pomMicroCam« monochrome camera with optical zoom, specialized for microtools.

CN control of the Camera Axis

Enables the generation of images of the tool that have combined focus throughout for a complete inspection, the automatic positioning of the camera relative to the tool surface, and CNC-controlled movement of the camera axis via the joystick operation in the software. Additional manual continuous fine adjustment is also available.

For printing reports directly from the inspection unit.

The UPS unit ensures that your computer shuts down properly in the event of power grid faults, thereby avoiding data loss. Mains voltages of 230 V~ (Europe) or 120 V~ (U.S.) are available.

A specialized high-definition microcamera with coaxial illumination enables the exact inspection of even the smallest tools: The zoom lens captures microtools in extreme detail with a magnification range of 125x to 1,250x.
