Depending on the machine configuration, the ZOLLER »redomatic« can measure tools with a maximum tool length of 600 mm to 1,000 mm and a maximum diameter of 420 mm to 800 mm.

CNC-controlled linear adjusting equipment for adjusting tool length using a limit rod. Also available as »the "asz-rot" version«, which allows the tool length to be adjusted optionally via automatic rotation of the length-adjustment screw (does not apply to shrink fit holders).

MQL (minimum quantity lubrication) Technology

For tools designed for minimum quantity lubrication (MQL), the coolant transfer fitting must be securely created at the shank end of the tool. Only then can you achieve full functionality and process reliability when machining with MQL tools. ZOLLER’s technology guarantees a secure, form-fit connection to the coolant supply—completely automatically.

22-kVA induction coil with quick-change interface

To shrink larger shrink fit holders with diameters ranging from D 40 mm to D 50 mm and reinforced shrink fit holders (thicker walls). A quick-change interface allows the 22-kVA induction coil to be operated quickly and ergonomically in exchange with the 14-kVA induction coil. The 22-kVA induction coil with shielding discs in the following diameter ranges: D 16 mm to D 20 mm, D 25 mm to D 32 mm, and D 40 mm to D 50 mm—these are optional in a split execution.

Retractable slide unit

When the »redomatic 600« is not currently being used to shrink tools, the »redomatic’s« slide unit can be lowered to the park position automatically via software control. This increases the measurable tool diameter to up to D 800 mm.

How do I remove broken tools from my shrink fit holder?

To address this, we have developed a specialized shrink-off function that uses the »asza« length setting system to eject the broken round or shank tool.

Can I also shrink-wrap MST feed using the »redomatic«?

The ZOLLER »redomatic 600« MST was specifically developed for the automated measurement, adjustment, and shrinking of round or shank tools in MST shrink fit holders.

How many times can I shrink my food until it is worn?

Lifetime varies by manufacturer and can be specified in our database. Our ZOLLER coil heats your chuck very gently to maximize its lifetime and reduces your energy costs by up to 30%.

How exactly can I use the »redomatic« to shrink and measure?

After you have used the shrink fit holder, the »masterPiece« setting adapter, and the tool in the »redomatic«, the length limit is automatically adjusted to match the target tool length. This ensures an accuracy of less than 10 μm when adjusting the target length. The repeatability of measurements with »the« »redomatic« is the same as with other ZOLLER presetting and measuring machines and is a maximum of 2 μm.

What coil options are available?

You can choose between our automatic induction coil with the »varOct« shielding system and the manual version with shielding discs. Both coils are available in a 14 kVA execution. The coil with shielding discs is optional for use as a 22 kVA coil for shrinking larger shrink fit holders with diameters ranging from D40 mm to D50 mm and reinforced shrink fit holders (thicker walls).

Can I save my tool and shrinkage data?

With the help of our image processing technology», pilot 4.0,« all measurement and shrinkage parameters can be saved and called up in a matter of seconds—for example, via the ZOLLER »idChip«. This guarantees a clean and error-free process.

Where can I—or do I have to—perform the installation of the »redomatic«?

Your device should be installed on a concrete or similar floor slab with a maximum unevenness of 2 mm. The installation site should be equipped with compressed air, a power connection, and a network connection. The device should be protected from direct sunlight, cold or warm air currents, magnetic fields, and vibrations to prevent the measurement results from being distorted.

Where are the cooling bells stored?

On our carrier system, all components for the shrink-wrapping process are provided with an overview and are ergonomically arranged. This provides operators’ personnel with a comfortable working environment. On the »redomatic 600« model, the »sls« heat-shrink guiding system on the carrier system also uses additional LED indicators to highlight the correct component for the upcoming step. To make the shrink-wrapping process even simpler and more safe, the cooling bells on both the »redomatic 400« and the »redomatic 600« are equipped with the »coolbyLight« user guidance system, which uses a color-coded LED system to guide the operator through the cooling process.

How does the length adjustment work?

With the help of our automatic length stop system, »asza«, the tool can be held in the required position during the heat-shrink process, maintaining a tolerance of 10 µm on the overall length.

How long does the heat-shrink process take, including tool measurement?

The entire process—from shrinking through cooling to the final measurement of a round or shank tool—takes about 2 to 3 minutes and depends on the tool type, diameter, etc.

Are there different »types of« automatic length stop systems »depending« on the shrinkage allowance?

We offer a variety of adjustment pins in our product line, which can be selected as needed. The device uses the LED-controlled user guidance of the »sls« shrink-wrapping system on the carrier system to display which pin you need to use. The pins are simple and user-friendly to screw in using a threaded connection, allowing them to be exchanged in just a few seconds.

What exactly is the »swomp« measuring program?

The »swomp« (shrinking without »masterPiece«) measuring program makes it possible to quickly and reliably shrink-fit all types of drills to a specific target length. It does not matter whether the tool is new or has been reground. During the heat-shrink process, the »asza« automatic length setting system is prepositioned, the shrink fit holder is heated, and the tool’s length is set with high precision without the need for an adjusting adapter.
